They planned to do a biopsy, but when they noticed how deep this "growth" goes into her ear canal, the recommendation was to just remove the ear canal to be on the safe side. I haven't gotten a second opinion just due to the fact that we've done to this vet with Bubbles for over 12 years and have come to trust him. However it does seem extreme to me...but mainly, I'm concerned about what I can expect after the surgery from anyone who may have experienced this with their dog.
