I wonder why your vet said that, and not specifically about grapes and raisins. Pretty much all fruits except grapes and raisins are fine to give. Some dogs just have a preference of what they prefer. For instance, Uni doesn't like blueberries. I guess she can't smell the fruit through the skin? Katie would pop blueberries in her mouth like crazy.
