They have used milk thistle for liver disease (started out , liver disease from drug abuse....then progressed to any kind of liver disease/failure) in Germany for YEARS.....I got a cousin of mine started on it right after he was diagnosed in end stage liver failure secondary to drug abuse.....the docs gave him maybe a year....he was with us for an additional 9 years..... Be sure you give dogs the glycerine based milk thistle, humans get theirs from health food stores!
