First of all..congrats and well done. Suggest getting the Cesar videos..dog whisperer....has a good segment on this! Separation anxiety can be tough. I have to remind myself constantly....calm, assertive with my Reagan. She does well with that. Don't react with all warm and wishy washy feelings in reaction to the whining. It just rewards that behavior.

All cesar did was make himself visible to the dog for a time until she realized he was still there. Then he slipped out of site. Then reappeared at a distance when barking started. He calmly and silently let the dog get bored until it felt secure enough to move onto other things. The dog eventually went off to sleep believe it or not. Calm.....assertive......not oooo baby....everything's ok.......and he didn't give in to the barking and whining.
