Thursday Bitsy started running around pawing at her mouth. She was gagging and choking and she looked frantic. I grabbed her and went straight to the vet who is only 3 minutes away. Bitsy had a piece of rawhide in her throat. The vet couldn't grab it and while she was trying Bitsy swallowed it. Poor baby she was so upset she was grinding her teeth. It was very scary. Anyway the vet gave me a lecture about raw hides and told me to watch her poop for 2 or 3 days to make sure she did poop and the rawhide hadn't caused a blockage. Well she has been pooping so thank God she's ok but although she and Scooter love rawhides.................no more rawhides.
