This absolutely BREAKS my heart....I am a CV-ICU nurse, and I always make absolutely sure, to the best of my ability, that these poor people have no fear....fear is such a crippling place to be.....I hope the nurses in that ICU are providing the emotional support and comfort that is required for patients experiencing this....fear can best be alleviated with an air of strong confidence in the capability of the team working with the patient.....answering all questions promptly, accurately, truthfully....and some of us have been known to help the family members direct treatments needed by advising and informing them about questions they should be asking....these are people's loved ones we are guarding.....they have usually NEVER been in this position and they are helpless and lost....as STRONG patient advocates, ICU nurses are just naturally more aggressive and we must remember that could be OUR own momma, sister, brother, husband, father, etc in this predicument. I am praying for Carla, for her fear to be washed away and I am also praying for guidance and courage for her son and advocate Jason.....
