Concern I appreciate everyone's concern about the puppy's age. Trust me, I am also concerned and I do not agree with her selling the puppy that young. If I were a breeder, I would keep them until 12 weeks. However, I am not the breeder. If I do not take the puppy, she will just go to the other family. Either way this girl is leaving her mother at 6 weeks. I had a really hard time finding this puppy in my area. There were several puppy mills around Idaho that sell little 2 lb "teacups", but I did not believe that those dogs would be healthy and I don't really care to support puppy mills if there are other options. The pics I received of the litters with the mothers were quite bad. The mothers looked really rundown and unhealthy, as I am sure they were. So, I came across this lady that breeds her yorkies. She has one male and one female only and breeds once per year. She is just an old lady who probably doesn't know better. Maybe she does, I don't know. The parents look healthy, the condition of the puppies is much better than the puppy mills. There were also a couple of breeders who were charging huge fees for their puppies. I think it would be better to buy from them, but unfortunately I don't have the money to pay their fees. My husband and I are not rich. I also came across many scammers wanting to give me free or very cheap yorkies if I would just wire the airfare to them in Arizona. Those were my choices. I chose the old lady with the healthy looking puppies that I can afford. If anyone else who is a more responsible breeder would like to sell me a 12 week old puppy at a price I can afford, please send me a private message. Otherwise, I will be super happy to take Gracie. She definitely could have come from a more responsible breeder, no question there. She is leaving her mom at 6 weeks, which makes me sad. Unfortunately, she is leaving whether I take her or pass. However, I do know that I can help her through that transition. I have puppy formula from the veterinarian to help her get along until she is accustom to eating regular puppy food since she is freshly weaned. I have a puppy heating pad to help her with her body temp. I have taken some time off work to make sure she is taken care of. I am not sure the other family can offer her the same. |
