What's wrong with your wrapping? It looks like you did a very good job! Unless you did what my son did one year and only wrapped the front tops and sides! Poor kid said he ran out of paper and didn't want to re wrap it with another color that had more paper! He said he was just hoping no one picked the box up before Christmas lololol. The entire bottom and back weren't wrapped... I was sooooo tickled!
But seriously it looks like you did a great job and I am sure your buddy will be thrilled
