Look at the numbers of pets killed each year at these shelters. It will make you sick.
I think some people think they are "just animals". I believe some are pretty hard hearted when it comes to this area. What is worse is when they "dump" them off somewhere to survive on their own. We have a new addition to our family thanks to someone dumping her off. She was past starving. It was the most pitiful thing you have ever seen. But she is good now. We have her and she will never go hungry again! I think our society don't care or have become "heartless". Either way, it is a sad situation.
