Thanks again for your concern guys. I love this site, it really helps yorkie owners share advice and encouragement! Yorkiemom- that's interesting you said that because I also felt that 9 weeks was too early for such a small dog. I would've been more comfortable with 12 weeks at least. In Canada dogs are allowed to go home at 7-8 weeks I think but I wouldve preferred to wait until 12 myself. Unfortunately I was not given this option.. My breeders seem pretty legit. They have been breeding for 30 years and they are registered with the ckc. They also offered me a refund or a new dog but I really did like Grim, he was perfect besides his sickness. One concern I do have is that the breeders seemed to downplay his illness when they got him back. They said "oh yes he has a small cough and will be better in no time", but when I had him it was much wOrse then a small cough. I hope they don't send me back a sick dog who will be prone to this stuff. On a good note though, at least Grim is getting a full 16 weeks at home with his mom and the other dogs she has. Hopefully he will learn some good doggy manners from them and become stronger and healthier. |
