My little girl, Ashley, walked each day for over two miles until she passed away one month shy of seventeen. Because of it, her heart and lungs remained very strong, and I also believe it kept her mind active. I definitely limited her jumping, but she would have walked for miles at a time if I let her. Ashley was four pounds. My little girl, Katie, is three years old, and she runs and plays with her ball at such a fast speed. I have steps for her to use to get on and off our bed, and I limit her jumping as much as I can, but she jumps whenever she can while playing. She has been playing and training like this from the time she was with her breeder, so I do what I can to keep her safe and happy. If a vet says his knees are sound, I wouldn't hesitate to exercise and train with him. Good luck and welcome to YorkieTalk.
