Not to rain on the parade, I'll offer a different perspective. We got our 2nd dog (male cockapoo) when our first dog (female cockapoo) was 2 yrs old. We thought they would become buddies. Not sure if it's the "mixed breed" or what, but they never became buddies.
They tolerate each other. That's about all. And it's been that way for 11 years now!
We got our third dog (a Biewer) 2 months ago, and he's a bundle of puppy! The other two (now 13yo and 11yo) want nothing to do with him.
But we have visiting pups, a 2yo and a 3yo yorkie-mix, and the 3 younger dogs are having a blast together this week!
