We handle puppies right from the start, sometimes Ive questioned if we handle them to much in the early stage!
But I beleive touching and interaction is so powerful and positive. I do beleive early interaction makes a big difference. I really think it helps a puppy be people lovers, because they have had gentle touching and been talked too and they know nothing but good things from the experience from humans.
The loving interaction is important, but the point of ENS is to basically subject pups to mild discomfort/stress to stimulate hormonal, adrenal and pituitary systems so they are better able to withstand stress as adults.
