I am going out to look tomorrow. The vet practice's here keep a lot of accessories and most vets also have an outlet shop in shopping centers so I can look in those. They are well stocked. My husband went out yesterday and bought a shampoo called 'Purl' de -tangling (not sure if I already mentioned that.) It was so lovely & soft with an almost silky feel. Although she smelt good and looked better I could get some knots out but a lot stayed in.
My sister recommended a 'Slicker' brush..have you heard of them?
Once again thank you so much xxx
The slicker brush was designed for dogs with an under coat like the Poodle. It grabs the dead undercoat and pulls it out. I think it would cause more harm than good on a Yorkie coat since they don't have an undercoat. If you bathed your dog without getting the mats out first then they are pretty much going to have to be cut out. It's always best to get all tangles out before the bath. Once you have bathed the fur the mat is set in that much worse. Since you are dealing with a puppy coat cutting it out is the best option. Once you get all the mats out make sure you continue to comb everyday. I know she doesn't like it but she will get used to it eventually. If you frequently pick her up and hold her gently through out the day she will learn that human touch is a good thing.
