Puppies that will likely grow to 70 or more pounds need to be on a large breed puppy food until 12 - 15 months. Regular puppy food, all life stages food, and adult food are not appropriate. Calcium level followed by calories are the most important issues to consider when trying to prevent orthopedic abnormalities. The puppies should maintain body condition scores of 4 or 5 out of 9.

There are several companies that make large breed puppy foods. Science Diet has among the fewest caliries per cup andis a good choice. However, if it has to be holistic/natural/what have you, then Iwould Google to find a brandwith this type of product.

If the vet is projecting that thry will be <70 pounds my opinion is the same as what I usually say.
