Know somebody that uses decibel meters in their work you could borrow one from and use the camcorder to record it as it goes up for the camera? I know sound recrdings just don't capture ambient sound well and that stuff they call infrasound, pressure changes, etc. The EPA should have all of the necessary equip to measure their output once they get involved - if they will. But likely you will need the influence of your senator's/reps' offices or a local TV station, newspaper and neighbors in order to get someone to really look into your situation there. But gather all of the evidence you can, collect some of the dirt, dust, etc., put it on something in plastic bags, record and photo all you can and start your journal posting the date, time and weather conditions when you are disturbed by the noise or pollution to go with your physical samples and video/audio samples. Take photos of the rig and its various machines, etc., as up-close as possible and have your map printed out showing your proximity to the rig. Write the people responsible for this rig complaining of its various physical and audio pollutions with your U. S./state senators, U.S. and state reps, your mayor, council members, local TV and radio stations, newspapers, the EPA
as co-addressees and everyone else having oversight of that rig's operation in your community begging for relief and help. And then start calling everyone you can to find out what to do next.
