My dad passed away 3 weeks ago unexpected They had just made the trip to their winter home in Mission Texas. I flew down. He died on a Friday morning.

I am a catholic and don't go as often as I should and believe I can pray at home. My mom doesn't miss. I have been to the church she chooses in the winter down in Texas. We went to mass that Saturday evening. My dad did not want any funeral. So this was the weekend before Halloween . His mass was terrific. Mind you he takes in stray dogs and loves them dearly. They walk around during mass. He tells stories about them and life. He follows the traditional mass but brings so much into it. It's how I think it should be. If he was here I don't think I would miss a mass. He plays country music it was absolutely awesome. And to me the mass to say goodbye dad in church ( dad believed but never attended a church)
