Well, the article I linked said that you can use anise seeds or extract, I found a small bottle of extract on sell for $2.00 and poured half the bottle on a favorite toy. It's clear so you don't stain the toy. Anyway, neither Joey or Ralphie seems impressed, but I love the smell!
