Lots of puppy mills have AKC dogs that doesn't make you a good breeder. The Yorkshire Terrier Club of America is what all breeders should follow and studies show that all small breed dogs mature slower then large breed dogs and learn a lot from there moms up to 12 weeks old. You said your breeder would have sold the pups a 8 weeks old if she wanted to go out of town even earlier and that they is a huge red flag. Maybe I am spoiled by some of the great breeders here and there practices but a breeder who really cares about the breed and there pups would not do that no matter what. On this board we see many people who have gotten there yorkies young and have had behavior issues and medical issues that come from getting a yorkie to young. We don't want that to happen to you or any one else, we also want what is best for the yorkie breed and the poor little pup who has no say in this matter.
