My autistic son reads to my ladies at night, when they are all crated and bedded down for the evening. He has to read out loud, or he does not remember anything he has read. I think it embarrassed him to have to do that, so I suggested he should be reading out loud to the pups at night when it was their bed time. He was worried about them not understanding what he was reading to them....he loves ham radio and AARL, and is trying to get his shortwave license....I told him they dont need to understand, they would just be thrilled to be hearing his voice, just knowing he is reading to them....so he does that.....and those dogs sit with erect ears and listen to everything he reads!!!! That thrills him to death, he thinks they DO understand what he is reading, and he remembers what he has read! I have even heard him going over test questions with each one! Two birds with one stone!
