yes, they can have a few licks of vanilla ice cream, breeders use vanilla ice cream if nothing else is available when a girl is whelping to speed the process a bit, because of the ice cream calcium content. the only time I would never give a dog ice cream is if the dog has any problems digesting lactose or calcium.
