In both cases, the hips were done simultaneously, and both of these babies have healed completely, neither even have a limp. When you look at the babies from behind, the hips are more narrow, but one of the pups is I think close to 2 years post op and the other baby was done just last June. Both owners of these babies say these pups do not appear to have even undergone any such surgery! So, you have nothing to fret about...your baby should heal without a hitch, IF YOU FOLLOW THE POST OP THERAPY INSTRUCTIONS....EXERCISE IS EXCELLENT, BUT NOT OVER EXERTION AND JUMPING AND RUNNING AT BREAK-NECK SPEED. You have to do exercises that are designed to strengthen that hip....just dont allow the pup to over do it! Also, weight management is important!

Thank you! This is extremely helpful! I am doing everything I can to make sure I follow PO instructions...He does come out for a few hours everyday but, we are mostly trying to keep him in his crate just because he does get very excited and tries to run and play. I'll be seeing the vet tomorrow so hopefully I'll hear some good news!
