Awwww, he IS still a baby - but the reality is, what else can you do?
You've covered all the bases - taking him out for a good walk before you leave, having a pet-sitter come in, etc....it's difficult isn't it - my son always used to say "It's a shame they can't read"....
But they
can watch tv or listen to the radio, I wonder if you've tried either of those? He might be a little bit lonely (I suppose another pup's out of the question?!!?

).
We had a similar problem with Harry when he was tiny - what made it better for him and us, was when we able to trust him enough to have the run of the house. Not just pottying, but past the chewing stage (thinking of the wires!) - he was then able to look out of the front window at the passers-by, and out of the back at the squirrels.
All barking and crying stopped then, he had more to occupy his mind, and we've never ever looked back. We took the plunge at about 10 months
