P-Nut, now 14 months old, just went through his 2nd FHO surgery (due to Legg-Calve-Perthes) - his "reactions" were very different each time. First one was in August and he was pretty much flattened/couldn't move for days. After he got his Fentanyl patch off, he started hopping around pretty well. He started touching the ground with his leg about a week after surgery and it took a couple of weeks for him to put much weight on it.Within about a month, you'd never know he'd had surgery - there was no limp, nothing indicative of what he'd been through. It was crucial to keep him from putting weight on the leg for the first few days, then follow the rehab instructions. This time, he had surgery 2 weeks ago and had a much easier recovery, was alert from the start and tried to use the leg much earlier than last time. Two weeks out and he's putting some weight on it, we're doing short walks and the vet says he's coming along nicely.

Wishing you all the best with your little guy - I know it's rough, but there's a huge potential that he will be just fine!
