I would start now. I got Troy at 12 weeks in October. Winter was approaching so I thought it best to use an expen and potty pads. Let's just say it worked temporarily. I crated trained, got on a schedule and stated taking him outside. Consistency is key and now my boy is potty trained for outdoors.

Because he small, in the colder months he is quick to potty but needs his little hoodie on to stay warm. This may be a personality quirk but he doesn't like it when it rains so he just holds it until it stops.
