I was wondering what the larger shelters are using. Our local shelter has a scanner that they say can detect "most" chips. Of course they are always running low on funds so they are not looking to purchase a new one.
It just seems that with so many different kinds of chips that there should be some consistency so if a person moves to another area they don't have to worry about the chip being valid there.
