We have been through that twice. The first time due to a plant shutting down, the second time due to the company selling off a plant. Both times, especially the second time, were very dark, depressing, worrisome times in my life. However, both have brought us to better places. The first time my husband ended up in a new job he enjoyed much more than the old one and with a wonderful company. The second time, although traumatic at the time, required us to move our family for a new job. I love the city and area of the country that we are in now so much, that I feel like I'm in heaven and so lucky to be here. Looking back, I feel so lucky that those job losses happened because it brought us to where we are now. I have talked to others that have gone through similar experiences and would say the same thing. I know it's hard, but try to stay positive because like the saying goes "when one door closes, another one opens". It may not be the door you are expecting either, but I now you will land on your feet and end up in a better place when this is over.
