I agree with a MAC as well but you need to find out if you will have to have any special programs. I know when I was completing my masters there were issues with MAC and some of the required programs. Many programs are geared toward a PC. If you go with a PC, I had good luck with a compaq. Husband bought me a Dell at the end of last year. I have already had problems with it. Speakers have gone out.
