To hear/read from someone that knows of this shelter first hand saying not to take their word for it gives me shivers.

I suppose it comes down to this - based on experience in one phone coversation with this shelter (for lack of a better term) and reading what others have been told (which makes no sense - no pics, can't see him, etc) - I think you should get up there and see with your own eyes and for your own PEACE of MIND. And go today or whatever will get you there as soon as they open tomorrow. Ellie, it may be a wasted trip but this shelter seems so wacky and strange - waste the trip and know for sure it's not him while you have the chance, ok? I just think you'll always wonder "what if" if you don't go...
