To be honest, there's NOT *that* many new things, IMO. Especially considering most of the new features could be added to a 4S when you upgraded your software.
I went from the 4 to the 5 because my whole back was completely shattered on my phone and I felt there were enough minimal differences going from the 4 to the 5. But I'd had the 4S, I wouldn't have spent the $$$ upgrading. For example, for me, I love having Siri, I love having the mic so you can talk what you want to type, I do love the lightness of it, and the bigger screen, and there were a few things you couldn't do on the 4 that you could do on the 4S and the 5.
