When my husband travels, sometimes I put him on speakerphone to talk to Columbo and he has never reacted, he just cocks his head as if to say "what is that funny sound coming out of the phone". He doesn't recognize that it's daddy. And he
really loves and misses his daddy when he's gone. So, I don't know if I'd take his non-reaction to mean anything, especially since he's been in a strange shelter with all new sounds and smells for several days.
