We had Bruce hardwood flooring installed in our home - in every room including bathrooms. Each plank is prefinished in the factory with a sealer and polyurethane, numerous coats - it is hard as a rock. Gracie and Sammie have christened every room - you cannot hurt the floors. Their nails cannot penetrate it. No amount of running and jumping can hurt it. I bought the Hoover Floor mate and use it about every two weeks - it is an awesome product. It is also great for spot cleanup, like puppy accidents... Install your floors and enjoy them. Much easier than rugs.
