Here is a thread about my Cookie:

http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sic...ia-update.html

The Internal Med Specialist told me that they are finding that diet is the main key in treating this condition. He had suggested a prescription diet or a home cooked diet...I opted for home cooked. I did a consult with a vet nutrionist and, almost one year later, Cookie is still enjoying her food and doing very well!

You can find a board certified vet nutrionist close to you at : American College of Veterinary Nutrition I strongly urge you to do that rather than to use any online nutrition advice. There is a bit of information out there, but some of it I felt was inaccurate and/or outdated.

Feel free to message me any time with any questions you may have. This is a scary condition.....but my Cookie is living proof that it is treatable.
