Oh there is so much fun to be had. There are a lot of "new puppy guides" on-line and in books. I made sure I had a little doggie bed, a blanket, toys, water and food dish, etc. With these two, I bought lots of stuff (one crate for each of them, a crate to share for the ride home and vet visits, an xpen, pee pads, baby gates to keep them in or out of rooms, harnesses, leases, ect) - probably went a little overboard, but...

I made arrangements to pick them up on a Friday so we would have a few days together.

One thing I have always had on hand with new puppies is a tube of puppy Nutrical. (It is basically sweet syrup for pups.) The first day or so your puppy may be a little stressed by the change in environment and may not eat or drink. A little drop of Nutrical a few times a day will help with sugar levels.

Have fun getting ready for your new family member. Be sure to share a pic or two when the baby comes home.
