hi everyone

i have just come across this forum as i was looking for advice about my little yorkie called rocky.
I adopted him 3 days ago. He is a male,neutered 5 year old adorable little dog and i´m already madly in love with him.
The only problem is he doesn´t seem to want to eat. I guess it´s just the upset of leaving his previous home but he seems very happy and settled with me otherwise. He did live with another dog in his previous home,a llasa apso,who has been adopted by my daughter and the first night that we brought them home,i stayed at my daughters house so that the two dogs could still be together and he ate fine that night and the next morning,the problem just seems to be since he´s come home to my house.
I´ve kept him on the same food that he was on with his previous owner,i´m just wondering if he may be tempted to eat something different.
Also he will eat little "doggy" treats although i´m trying not to give him too many.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated...thanks xxx

hi , welcome & congrats...

imo , i would not change his food right now . It could make matters worse. If he was eating fine before he will probably be ok once he settles in.. You could try adding a little warm water on his kibble to make it more appetizing...

if he lived with the lhasa apso his whole life , he is probably missing his friend and feeling lonely..
he just needs some time to adjust , maybe some visits with his friends will make him feel better.....
