The paneling and floors in my house are rather dark, and I have put Bells on ALL the Collars right from when each was a Pup, and they still wear them. I've stepped on my guys toes several times, and the learn to watch out and keep out of the way.
As the rest of you, abundant hugs, kisses and petting, always provides forgiveness. Not that it wouldn't have been given anyway.
