are you still active in the church, perhaps the ladies group can help raise some money for her care, a bake sale, a 50/50 at a church event there should be something that can be done there. does the old lady have any funds or her family where she could chip in at least $100.00 if so this would give you time to get her healthy, Perhaps a girl scout troop that would like to adopt ie sponsor her, you could take her to visit them and they could learn a bit about animal care, the vet might even let them come in to hear about her care, it could be a learning experinec, and it might go towards one of their badges, that's what I would do, I would try to raise some quick cash for her vet care. if need be get some friends and stand outside a pet store with a can,and her photos or buy cheap candy bars and sell them for double or triple what you pay, heck private schools do that all the time which annoys me since you would think those kids come from families of at least some means.
