This is frustrating! I remember buying a bag of Wellness right before that recall in April or whenever and decided to just go with another brand. We are currently over halfway through a bag of the Wellness Core Reduced Fat now though. I'll probably be finding a different brand after this bag...I LOVE this kibble because it is one of the better low calorie grain-free dog foods that has a higher protein level and lower fat content which is HARD TO FIND! And we are having success with it...UGH! As much as I like the formulas, I don't like these quality control issues that keep popping up...it just makes you wonder when you will end up seeing your formula on that recall alert.
Unfortunately, recalls happen. But two in the past year seems like too many for me to feel comfortable to continue feeding Wellness at this point. I'm kinda torn right now...although I'd like to stick with the WCRF, I will be looking at other alternatives as well (maybe we'll be trying out the new Fromm Weight Management formula sooner than I was expecting). |
