Am watching the special hurricane coverage channel on Direct TV and Jersey has a lot of water and Long Beach, NY, Nassau and Long Island Sound flooded some areas it sounds like. Still watching the EarthCam in Times Square and streets still partially wet but some areas drying, no wind. They showed the water in Battery Park really rolled back out with low tide. Looks about like the flooding we had in Fort Worth Spring of 2011 I think it was when some areas had 13' of water, trees down every where and flooding widespread, that accumulated from just several hours of rain and wind! Back in NY, there are some blocks burning from a fire in or around Long Beach but don't know what they think caused it but then Brooklyn in general and all around there, Coney, etc., got a lot gof trees down, flooding, general mess from top to bottom.
