Welcome to Yorkie Talk. Mochi sounds like a very good boy, and obviously a joy.
I do all of my boys' grooming. They have never been to a professional. Since they are in full coat, I only have to trim their ears and feet with a Wahl Peanut or a mustache trimmer, and do a sanitary trim. I use scissors to take off split ends on the rest of their coats.
We loves brushes and combs of all types.
