I would definitely get a second opinion before I let anyone cut into my baby.
I would not do what a fill in vet says.

Mickey was limping 2 weeks ago. My vet was out. Fill in vet said give him baby asprin. Next day when my vet was back in she called me and said "What's going on with my buddy?". She wanted to see him asap. She gave him a pain killer and anti-inflamitory . Restricted playing with Max. and walks. He is fine now. It was only a pulled muscle.
Ya.. I have been trying not to stress on it.. we all know how hard that is!

DH and I are taking him in at 6pm tonight to see my Vet Dr Sandu. Hopefully we get better news!!

I worked with Dr Sandu a long long time ago, I know what kind of person and Vet he is. I know how he is in the treatment room and I know first hand how he treats pets back there. He is very smart and some what "old school" which is ok, he does have all the newest technology in his office which is great! I have always trusted him when I worked with him and I trust him with my baby..

The fill in Dr, Dr Sing- I am not too sure about. I know Dr Sandu would never have someone work under his name that he didn't personally approve of, but as you said it is a different bond Vets have with their clients than a fill in has... That is for sure.
