Animal Smiley 036 Tea Tree is wonderful if used properly

Dear Chachi,

Tea Tree oil isn't inexpensive, but realize that a little goes a long way, both for our yorkies and ourselves. If you go to a public gym or swimming pool or even hotels from time to time, and have ever picked up a foot fungus, tea tree kills this in no time. Please note, it is NOT for internal consumption under ANY circumstances. You can find it at most Health Food stores or Whole Foods etc.

I recommend that you buy 100% pure tea tree oil and use it as follows:
If you need to put it on an area that your yorkie absolutely cannot lick then dab some on a Q tip or cotton ball and gently put it on the skin. If the problem area is very large or generalized, put some shampoo in a small bowl, add 3-4 drops of the tea tree oil (it is really strong stuff) and mix with a toothpick to blend. When you bathe your yorkie, wet him or her down completely, turn off the water, and suds up your baby with the shampoo/tea tree oil mix, LEAVE THE SUDS ON FOR 10-15 minutes! This is a must. Then rinse. Make sure the shampoo you are using is a gentle non irritating vet prescribed shampoo. Obviously you do not use this mix anywhere on their head or around their eyes.

Corky had a scratch free night last night and his underarms are not nearly as red and inflamed as they were 48 hours ago. I can't help but think it is the tea tree.
