Does Basil try to jump? Teddy wouldn't jump up on the couch or bed for the longest time. I think he was afraid he wouldn't make it, so he would bounce on his hind legs and never go anywhere.
Could just be Basil's preference. I agree with being grateful.
It's better than the opposite problem.
