Yep, I went back to my very old nurses' calculation methods and came up with 0.6 ml or cc. The strength of 12.5mg in 5 mls---0.6 would give your baby the proper dose just as Carolina Yorkie said.
Everything I have read, and the research in my vets' manuals, say that Tylenol(acetaminophen) is not recommended for dogs as even at recommended dosages there is potential for kidney, liver, GI and blood problems. The Vet Desk Reference says that aspirin in the appropriate dose is safe in both dogs and cats..
I am not saying to give these meds to your animals without checking with your vet. Also, it might be a good idea to space out any further vaccines so that there is at least 2 weeks between distemper vaccines and rabies or others. Our Yorkies are small and sometimes they get treated the same as large dogs and it is too much for them..
Hope she is better soon. |
