I'm glad all is well with your litter but I agree with the others who have stated that there are many things that can go wrong with birthing a litter and they have nothing to do with a person being there to witness the events. Your little girl having a puppy lodged in the birthing canal happens more frequently than you can imagine and it had nothing to do with your watching. It is a good thing you were there to get her to the vet in time because you could have lost her and the whole litter.

Purebred dogs and cats tend to have more problems birthing than the common mixed breeds do but any dog or cat can have these issues. Years ago I took in a stray pregnant cat (the first of many) It turned out the first kitten she tried to push out was too big. She could not get it out and I ended up taking her to the vet where she had a section and I had her spayed at the same time. She was a common everyday cat and would have died if I hadn't taken her in.
