You know your dog better than anyone else. Is she pretty well balanced and socialized? How does she react when she sees a strange dog? Is there anyway you could have someone visit with a dog she doesn't know? Sometimes dogs will react differently at home than they do when outside their territory.

How do you know how much your puppy will weigh? Do you know a breeder that produces puppies that are consistently the same size? From what I have observed here on YT there are many people who have purchased Yorkies that were supposed to be 4 to 6 lbs and turned out to be 10 to 15lbs. Weight can be pretty unpredictable depending on the line.

As long as your female is healthy and well socialized she will probably be fine with a new one. The thing that is variable in the situation is the puppy. Make sure you know what kind of stock the breeder produces in the area of health, size and personality.

I have gone back and forth on this issue myself. Gracie is 2 and if I get another one I would like it to be close to her size and personality type but there is just no way to be sure. Maybe I am being too cautious but when I do get another one I want her to be happy, too.
