Colored velcro: Check the baby section of Joann or Hobby Lobby- I use the velcro that sews into the diaper covers. It comes in all sorts of colors.
I like good quality stick pins- I don't buy the bargain bundled pack. I want them sturdy and short. I am very picky about my stick pins.
Also, good scissors. I use a rotary cutter but I have 3 or 4 pair of scissors in various areas (one by the machine, one on the cutting table, one by the serger) and I truly believe quality is key.
