I live in a dumping zone. We are outside of town in the woods. We are way off the main road and there is a small access road that connects us with the main road. I guess people think they won't be seen dumping their pet in the wooded area. I think people many times will grab a kitten or puppy from someone's accidental litter and keep it for a while. When it gets past the cute baby stage and becomes more of a bother they dump it. My grandchildren would visit and always find the latest abandoned dog or cat and bring it to me to save. I have lost track of the work and money that have been put into helping these poor creatures.

It is frightening to me that there are so many people that are so callous and disregard the lives of innocent animals. I worked in the human medical profession for many years and saw much abuse and neglect of children. I have to assume that it is the same type of people that would harm or abandon an animal.
