You went in with your eyes open. You saw the mother with down ears, it will be no surprise if your pups ears remain down..or if she is larger.

I would tell your friend you would have loved to have had one of her pups, but the cost was out of your price range at that time.
A real friend will not critize your new companion, a real friend will make over her and tell you what a wonderful pet she is going to make.
If my friend asked my opinion before buying a puppy, I will be honest and tell them want I think..BUT after the pup is purchased, why would I hurt her feelings.
Some people have a need to feel important at others people expense.
