Sounds like that dog might be "too" attached to his owner and was "guarding" her. Training can improve this issue and no, it's not a Yorkie trait. Most Yorkies are very social! One of mine loves everyone (Izzy) and my Luna is afraid of most people/animals. She has gotten much better with time and socialization,
